Assalaamualaikum,
We would like to welcome all our soccer players for the spring
semester of our league. The schedule for the games will be every
Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at a city park and practices will be
held on Saturdays at 4:00 at the Islamic Center of Boca Raton. In
most cases the park will be the south soccer field at FAU. Your
child's coach will provide the park directions before the beginning
of each month. Please note the following instructions for Friday
and Saturday soccer:
" Registration fee is $80 for 4 months, please stop by the
office and pay the fee as soon as possible
" Your child must be wearing the proper uniform in order to
participate. This includes soccer cleats, and shin guards. In the
next week, your child will be provided an official ICBR shirt and
socks that must also be worn
" When reporting to the field, please go directly to the field
that your coach is on. You will work with the same coach every week
unless told otherwise
" It is highly recommended that you do not leave the premises
when dropping off your child, especially for very young children.
The
main goals for the soccer league are for the children to have fun
in an Islamic environment and for the children to learn some athletic
skills and get some physical exercise. In order to fulfill these
goals there are certain rules that will be enforced. These rules
are being put into place in order to give
a chance for all children to play, have fun and learn respect for
their peers as well as the adults.
Rules
(Applicable only for the older children, ages 8-14):
During
game play on Fridays, the referees will be issue warnings for inappropriate
behavior and expulsions for serious infractions. Any child who is
issued an expulsion will be removed from the game and also receives
a one game suspension for the following week. The following are
the infractions that are punishable.
Warning:
- "unsporting behavior" - this includes
hard fouls; harassment (such as jumping around, shouting or making
gestures to intentionally distract an opponent; blatant cases
of holding and pulling an opposing player or his uniform; any
action designed to deceive the Referee; and behavior which in
the Referee's judgment is unsporting or causes an unfair advantage)
- dissent by word or actions
- persistently breaking the rules
- entering the field without the referee's permission
- Deliberately leaving the field without the referee’s
permission
Expulsion:
